DAMSOYU HOSPITAL · BEFORE YOUR VISIT
Before accessory breast surgery: assessment, costs and arm activity
Prepare for a consultation about underarm discomfort or fullness. Clarify tissue assessment, removal and liposuction, cost items and recovery activities.
Start with your situation
Start by describing where you feel discomfort and how it has changed. An examination helps clarify the cause of underarm fullness and the tissue being considered for treatment.
Understanding the procedure
| Term or topic | What it means | What to ask |
|---|---|---|
| Underarm fullness or a lump | Several conditions can cause changes in the underarm. | What assessment is needed to understand this change? |
| Accessory breast tissue | Breast tissue outside the usual breast area that may respond to hormonal changes. | Are changes with periods, pregnancy or breastfeeding relevant? |
| Removal and liposuction | The tissue and areas proposed for treatment. | Is one side or both sides included, and what does each procedure address? |
What does the estimate include?
| Item | What to check |
|---|---|
| Tissue assessment | Which examinations and existing reports are relevant? |
| One or both sides | Which side and treatment area does the estimate cover? |
| Removal and liposuction | Which parts of the proposed procedure are included? |
| Anesthesia and aftercare | What is included for supplies, wound care and follow-up? |
Use this checklist to ask what applies to your care. Items are not necessarily required or included in an estimate.
Check payment and insurance separately
Ask the hospital how your care will be billed. Ask your insurer whether the proposed treatment abroad is covered, whether prior approval is needed and which documents to keep. Check any Korean health insurance eligibility separately if it is relevant to you.
Recovery and your return journey
Describe how you use your arms at work and at home, including lifting, reaching and childcare. Ask about clothing, wound care, activity changes and follow-up. Discuss luggage and travel before the return journey.
